The slotting knife of 17''
is hardly fully used. Only about 6'' to 10'' portions
of the knife are used. the tendency of the operator
is to toghten the front portion of the side cutters.
As a result of the constant use of the 6'' to 10''
portion of the slotting knife,the knife gets worn
out resulting in tepering of the front portion of
the knife.
