Graduate corrugating
rolls begin with nitriding hardening treatment yielding
a flute profile hardness of 62HrC. A hardness of
65HrC may be achieved if induction tempering with
ionic nitriding is optioned for. This process also
yields a tougher, more pressure resistant base steel
structure. Graduate also offers chrome coatings
or, for the ultimate in corrugator roll performance,
Graduate recommends its TCC coating process.
All Graduate corrugating rolls are available
with an optional TCC tungsten carbide coating.
TCC is composed of 86% tungsten carbide, 10% nickel,
and 4% chrome. Stringent quality control of coating
composition and application results in excellent
adhesion and coating quality. The coating is impregnated
with PTFE and polished for a chrome like smoothness
of 0.30um. The final coating thickness is 50um
with even distribution over the flute profile.
Benefits of rolls with TCC tungsten carbide coating
versus conventional rolls can be summarized as:
increased corrugator roll life of up to 200%
reduction of corrugator roll costs by 30%
reduction of roll costs per running meter
stable profile geometry
higher production speeds
consistently good board quality
web widths between 50% and 100% of working widths
can be run without adverse effects on the coating
Graduate produces replacement corrugator rolls
for most makes and models of corrugators including:
